Chelsea Trying To Complete 17 Transfers, Including The Search For Player Number 9
JAKARTA - Chelsea are still trying to complete 17 transfers in the remaining day of the stock exchange deadline, both out and in. As is known, the transfer window will be closed on Friday, August 30, 2024.
The Blues have brought 11 new players to Stamford Bridge in this summer's transfer market.
Chelsea's transfer has cost more than 200 million to sign three players, namely Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Even so, the Blues also released a number of stars. Conor Gallagher and Ian Maatsen are players who have left the club from 19 names, both permanent and as loans.
Then, there was also an agreement to release Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is close to completing a transfer to Napoli for 38 million pounds.

Lukaku has no longer been included in Enzo Maresca's projections for the season. He became an expensive star for the failed 100 million pounds. As a result, Lukaku has spent more time as a loan player in recent seasons.
In addition, there are also goalkeepers Lucas Bergstrom and Kepa Arrizabalaga who are no longer needed under the crossbar since Filip Jorgensen arrived.
Kepa will be loaned a season to Bournemouth, just like Bergstrom.
Chelsea is considered the most stretched team in the stock exchange this time. In fact, they are still maneuvering at the end of the window.
It was noted that there were 17 deals that the Blues had to finalize in about 24 hours.
Most notable is the deal to release star Raheem Sterling. The striker's departure is a priority as there are plans to swap for Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.
Then, Chelsea is also still busy looking for striker alias player number 9. Victor Osimhen's name appears as the main target.
However, the Blues did not appear to be able to afford the 25-year-old striker. Napoli and Chelsea are still talking about the transfer price.
Napoli certainly want the best price even though Osimhen is no longer needed. They have a good bargaining position because the Saudi Arabian club, Al Expert, is also in the hunt.
Therefore, Chelsea has prepared alternatives. Brentford striker, Ivan Toney, is also being explored.
The problem is, Toney has agreed to personal requirements with Saudi Arabia's Pro-League club, Al Expert. However, the transfer fee is still negotiated with Brentford demanding 50 million pounds.
Chelsea are actually confident they can accept Brentford's request for Toney. The England national team player has only one year left in the contract with Brentford.
Toney has also been dumped by Brentford. He was not played in the opening two games of the 2024/2025 Premier League.
Even so, Brentford Manager, Thomas Frank, has not wanted to comment on Toney.
"We have no comment on Ivan," he said.
If Toney goes to Chelsea, he should be ready to receive a much lower salary than Al Expert has to offer.
You see, Chelsea has a tight new salary structure with an average weekly expenditure for new players between 60 thousand and 70 thousand pounds with incentive bonuses.
Despite chasing players, Chelsea will also continue to release players in the remaining time of the stock exchange.
Ben Chilwell is on the list. He is rumored to be targeted by Manchester United. The problem is, Chilwell has a salary that is difficult for the Red Devils to meet.
Another defender, Axel Disasi, is another name who could leave the club in the remaining transfer market time after losing place under Maresca.
Some players are also reportedly more likely to leave than not use and make the dressing room short.
These names include Armando Broja, Carney Chukwuemeka, Trevoh Chalobah, Alex Matos, Angelo Gabriel, Hervey Vale, Tino Anjorin, Seivid Washington, and David Datro Fofana.
