Gokil, Donald Trump Launches NFT Collection Again, Now Titled "The America First Collection"

JAKARTA - Former President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has again shocked the public by launching the fourth series of Non-Fungible Token (NFT) digital cards named "The America First Collection." This announcement was made through his personal social media platform, Truth Social, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Trump said the launch of the NFT series was due to high demand from his fans.

This latest collection consists of 50 digital trading cards featuring Trump in various unique poses. In his promotional video, Trump reveals that some cards show himself dancing, some even showing himself holding bitcoin.

Trump also offers special bonuses for those who buy 15 cards or more, namely physical cards that will be sent directly to buyers. This physical card will contain pieces of cloth Trump wore during a presidential debate with Joe Biden last June, known by his fans as a "keyboard." The suit will be cut and included in each card, with five of which will be randomly selected to get a direct signature from Trump.

Not only that, the purchase of 75 cards will give buyers access to attend a gala dinner at Trump's country club on Jupiter, Florida.

The price of each of these NFT cards remains set at $ 99 (around Rp. 1,534,500), and Trump encourages the public to buy this collection as part of "American history." Purchase of this card is also claimed to be easy, requiring only email addresses and payment methods via credit cards or cryptocurrencies. Trump, who is increasingly recognized among the crypto community, also added:

"They call me crypto president. I don't know if it's true or not, but many say so."

On the other hand, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reportedly preparing legal steps related to NFT. The SEC is said to have sent a Wells notification to Opensea, stating that some of the NFTs on the platform are considered securities. Trump himself promised to fire SEC Chair Gary Gensler if he was re-elected president.

The launch of the Trump NFT will certainly continue to attract public attention, both from fans and from crypto industry players, especially amid regulatory uncertainty that still overshadows the NFT market.
