Polda Metro Unloads Case Of Hacking Smartfren Credit Server Loss Hundreds Of Millions
JAKARTA - The police have uncovered a case of alleged hacking of the PT Smartfren Telecom credit server which caused a loss of Rp350 million.
Director of Special Crimes at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said that in handling the case, a person with the initials SH had been arrested and named a suspect.
"Sudah melakukan upaya paksa penangkapan terhadap satu orang tersangka," ujar Ade kepada VOI, Kamis, 29 Agustus.
The alleged case of hacking the pulse server began when PT Smartfren Telecom through the NOC (Network Operation Center) team discovered several anomalous transactions.
In fact, from all the anomaly transactions found the amount reached Rp350 million.
"It was found that there was an anomalous pulse topup transaction through the Eload server which was carried out in a row on June 25, June 27, June 30, July 02, July 03, July 08, and July 10, 2024," he said.
Then, PT Smartfren Telecom reported the alleged crime to the Polda Metro Jaya. On the basis of the report and the results of the investigation and investigation, SH was arrested.
The arrests were made at SH's residence in the Assisting area, Rawalumbu, Bekasi City.
"From the results of the examination of SH, he admitted that on July 3, 2024, he had made a credit topup to his MSISDN illegally through hacking PT Smartfren Telecom's upload server," said Ade.
"Doing an illegal top up pulse with a total amount of Rp.4,350,000.", he continued.

Currently, the police are still developing a case of alleged hacking of the PT Smartfren Telecom credit server. Because, it is possible that there are other perpetrators involved.
In this case, SH was charged with Article 30 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 46 paragraph (1) and/or Article 32 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 48 paragraph (1) and/or Article 35 in conjunction with Article 51 paragraph (1) of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, as amended lastly by Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
