West Sumatra Police Propam Examines 2 Police Perpetrators Of Money Robbery In ATM Filling Cars
West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono confirmed that two police officers were involved in the alleged robbery of rupiah in cash from a car filling up the Mandiri Cash Platform (ATM) was investigated internally by the Propam Division of the Regional Police.
This was directly emphasized by Suharyono when holding a press conference related to the theft of money from an ATM filling car amounting to billions of rupiah on Wednesday (28/8).
"In addition to the criminal process, the two members of the National Police involved were also investigated by the Propam Division of the West Sumatra Police," he said accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of Kombes Dwi Sulystiawan, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 28.
He said the investigation by the Propam Division was related to the enforcement of discipline against the two individuals in a official manner.
The two policemen are MPP (29) with the rank of Brigadier General and MSAD (21) with the rank of Bripda, both of whom are personnel at the Sabhara Directorate of the West Sumatra Police.
Brigadier MPP is known to have served as a police officer for eight years, while Bripda MSAD served for one year and 11 months.
Suharyono ensured that his party would not hesitate to impose severe sanctions on the two individuals if based on the examination they were found guilty.
However, Suharyono on behalf of the National Police institution apologized to the public for the involvement of two members of the Regional Police in the alleged robbery case.
"We are concerned and regret the involvement of members of the National Police in this case, this incident is an important note to evaluate," he said.
He said the case should be a lesson for all members of the National Police, especially those under the West Sumatra Regional Police to always be professional and obey the rules.
He warned that no more Polri personnel would abuse or violate the law, regulations, or other despicable acts that could tarnish the name of the institution.

According to him, the National Police is currently intensively carrying out internal cleaning, and will not hesitate to take action against any members who violate.
According to him, this is in accordance with the policy of the National Police Chief who continues to want improvements within the institution.
Suharyono stated that when a member has problems or violates, his party will expose it to the public without covering up.
This is proof of the transparency and commitment of the Police in cleaning their internals from problematic elements.
In the case of the theft of money belonging to the bank, there were three perpetrators, two of whom were the police.
The theft was carried out near the Kasang Village Fly Over, Batang Anai, Padangpariaman on Monday (26/8) night.
The perpetrators, by means of and by fire, took away the money in a car filling the Mandiri Cash Platform (ATM) with a total value of billions.
