Digitalization Can Increase Economic Growth In The Country, How Come It's Bisa?
JAKARTA - Currently, Indonesia's economic growth is only around 4.5-5 percent, with Indonesia's total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2023 reaching 1.3 trillion US dollars.
Indonesia has a vision to become the country with the 4th highest economic income in Asia by 2045. However, to achieve that, economic growth of 5 percent per year is not enough.
Therefore, Roy Kosasih as President Director of IBM Indonesia, said that there needs to be a jump made by the government, and this leap can be done in the field of technology or digital economy.
"This is what we really have to do, and while IBM is also working with the government. Trying to provide input on (innovation) digital industry what can be done," Roy said on Monday, August 26.
Furthermore, Roy told VOI that the government must focus on maximizing digitalization in the country. Because according to him, digitization will make all work more productive and efficient.

"Because if we look at how it goes to digital, it will begin to increase the efficiency of each individual, from each candidate-candidate or even job actor," added Roy.
Roy also mentioned that some of the benefits of digitization, especially the implementation of AI, are the first to increase efficiency and business productivity. Second, narrowing down errors.
"Only the third, with digitization and automation which is part of the entire chain of industry or even planning, it will all be much shorter and more efficient to reduce costs," Roy explained.
