Former England Coach! Goran Eriksson, Dies

JAKARTA - Former England national team managermiral Goran Eriksson, died at the age of 76, Monday, August 26, 2024, Sweden time.

Eriksson died after battling end-stage pancreatic cancer.

Eriksson's family confirmed in a heartbreaking statement.

"Sven-Goran Eriksson has passed away. After being sick for a long time, great Eriksson died this morning at home surrounded by family."

Eriksson's family asked for their privacy to be respected so that they could personally mourn.

Meanwhile, Eriksson's children, Lina and Johan, gave the late's story a little before breathing his last.

"Our father Eriksson fell asleep in peace at his home in Bjorkefors, Sunne, this morning. He has been battling his illness for a long time with courage, but now his illness has ended," said Lina Eriksson.

Furthermore, Lina revealed that Eriksson had informed his family about his illness earlier this year.

Eriksson also received tremendous support from the football environment that made his name.

"Father told us earlier this year about his serious illness. Father had tremendous support from football friends and fans across Europe."

"He was invited to several football teams in England, Italy, Portugal and Sweden. They share their love for football and dad."
