There Is A Toyota BZ4X Recall In Indonesia, This Is A Preparation From Auto2000

JAKARTA - Not long ago, PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) announced the start of the recall program involving Toyota bZ4X in Indonesia, which will produce December 2022 until August 2003.

The single agent holding the Toyota brand (ATPM) in Indonesia appealed to all affected vehicle owners to take their cars to the nearest official workshop related to the inspection and replacement of the Front View Camera and Near View Camera.

Well, Auto2000 as one of Toyota's authorized dealer and workshop services in Indonesia certainly needs to be prepared in handling this.

Aftersales Support Dept Head Auto2000 Yusuf Bahtiar, said that his party would prepare this in a structured manner by setting the standards set by TAM.

"The TAM Party has also coordinated with us, then it has also explained what the technicality looks like. Moreover, we as dealers are familiar with this condition and will communicate it to customers," Yusuf said when met by reporters in East Bekasi, Sunday, August 25.

He also explained that his party needed good preparation regarding the recall and if everything was ripe, then his party would contact the owner of bZ4X.

"If the customer has entered us, our preparation is okay, we just have to handle it as usual," added Yusuf.

Yusuf also ensured that the affected vehicles did not need to be brought back to the factory for repairs and that vehicle owners only needed to visit the nearest Auto2000 service.

"We call it repair support, which is done by the distributor. So, we will definitely be asked to prepare and that is something we have normal to do as usual," explained Yusuf.

It is known that the Front View Camera and Near View Camera features are used to capture and display images on the front and rear areas of the vehicle.

The company said the system experienced an underoptimal laser welding in a camera container in the supplier at the time of assembly, thus potentially creating a camera container to be released if exposed to external pressure from time to time which causes water to leak into the camera.

If this is allowed, the circuit inside the camera can experience a short circuit which causes the inability to display images of the area in front and back of the vehicle properly.

The inspection process takes about 50 minutes to 2 hours. If a replacement of the components is needed, it takes about 1.5 hours to 4 hours depending on the vehicle model.

Vehicle owners are advised to book first regarding the inspection schedule so they don't have to wait too long in line.
