GMC Sierra EV Edition 1 Electric Pickup That Will Become A Tesla Cybertruck Rival Starts Sending To Customers

JAKARTA - GMC, an automotive brand from the United States (US), has finally announced the delivery of the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 2024 electric pickup after its first introduction in late 2022.

Global Vice President Buick and GMC Duncan Aldred, said the car was the brand's third electric vehicle after previously introducing Hummer EV in the form of SUVs and pickups.

"In addition to HUMMER EV Pickup and SUVs, GMC is now the only brand that owns three electric trucks," Duncan said on the brand's official website, Saturday, August 24.

To provide customers with the best EV truck experience, GMC engineers use the most advanced virtual technique and decades of real-world experience.

The electric pickup program of General Motors includes the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 model, developed and tested for 17.5 million miles virtually or equivalent to nearly 1 million highway miles in the real world.

Built on the same Ultium platform as Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV, Sierra EV borrowed features from its brother and offered various elements of luxury as well as the typical toughness of Uncle Sam's country.

This car is equipped with a panoramic glass roof and 24-inch rim which has a tough design. Meanwhile, the exterior has a similar design like the Sierra Denali version of the combustion engine (ICE), but with a more modern shape and a closed grip.

The premium element is located on the interior with the presence of a seat that resembles a thick line on the profile of the truck to a sleek dashboard. In addition, there is a luxurious porous trim with dark aluminum accents covering the entire cabin and there is a stainless steel speaker cover.

The car is also equipped with advanced technology with a 16.8-inch infotainment display and is the largest in Sierra model history.

Then, Sierra EV Denali also has unique features such as Regen on Demand Braking, One-Pedal Driving, as well as 4-wheel steering steering with CrabWalk which is the same as Hummer EV.

Air Ride Adaptive Suspension technology is also embedded in this car which makes the pickup more comfortable by raising or lowering the vehicle about 2 inches.

Speaking of performance, Sierra EV Denali is armed with a 754 dk electric motor and a powerful 1.064 Nm torque in Max Power mode. Thus, this car can run from 0 to 97 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

This electric pickup is equipped with a large 200 kWh battery capable of providing a cruising range of up to 640 km in a fully charged battery state. Sierra EV Denali has the ability to charge with a DC fast-charging of 350 kW which can be charged for a range of 100 miles or 160 km in 10 minutes.

To be a challenger for the Tesla Cybertruck, GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is priced at US$99,495 or equivalent to Rp1,532 billion.
