HGBT 6 Dollar Program Per Central MMBTU Audited By BPKP
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) provides the latest news regarding the fate of the sustainability of the Certain Natural Gas Price program (HGBT) of US$6 per MMBTU for seven industrial sectors.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana said that currently the cheap gas policy is being audited by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) regarding the realization of the HGBT program throughout 2023.
"We are being presented with BPKP. So for this year's implementation, last year it was audited with BPKP first to see what the benefits will be," Dadan told the media, Friday, August 23.
Dadan said, with the audit, the government could clearly find out the impact of HGBT on state revenues.
Later, the results of the audit will be used as consideration for the Ministry of Finance, SKK Migas and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources regarding the continuation of the cheap gas program.

With this cheap gas policy, Dadan said that many industries that want to beneficiaries of this program are set to be cheap.
"Everyone will definitely ask, the price is cheap. Then we have to choose from there. So how to choose? Through the results of the BPKP audit. There have been studies reports from the Ministry of Finance, but at the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs decided that this was audited with BPKP, this is currently underway," concluded Dadan.
