VW ID. 2 Production Trial, Ready To Launch In 2026 At Affordable Prices
JAKARTA - Volkswagen (VW) launched the ID. 2all concept in March last year and will be positioned as an affordable electric vehicle (EV). Recently, a form of production from the hatchback was caught on camera testing the road at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, Germany.
Launching from Carscoops, Friday, August 23, this car can be seen at first glance resembling an ID model. 3 which is also in the form of a hatchback. However, the difference lies in the charging port which is grafted into the front right cross section.
Another interesting thing about this model is that the back door is designed smaller which hints at a shorter wheelbase than its brother.
It is estimated that this is a chassis testing for a upcoming model that will carry the latest MEB Entry platform. This architecture borrowed technology from MEB earlier and focused on affordable electric vehicles.
The German manufacturer has confirmed that the car called ID. The 2 will carry a front wheel drive (FWD) and is claimed to have batteries and charging is more efficient than any other model.
