Jokowi Admits Airlangga's Great Contribution To Big Golkar
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appreciated the contribution made by former chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto to the party bearing the banyan tree symbol.
"I am sure that this good condition that is maintained in the process at the National Conference cannot be separated from the role of the old general chairman, namely Mr. Airlangga Hartarto," said the President in his remarks at the closing ceremony of the Golkar Party's XI National Conference in 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Wednesday night.
The President assessed that Airlangga, who is still the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (Menko Perekonomian), is a major politician and a true technocrat.
"An Indonesian economic orchestra whose work really looks real," said President Jokowi.
In his remarks at the closing of the Golkar Party's XI National Conference, the elected General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia also appreciated Airlangga for contributing to the achievement of 102 seats in the Golkar DPR RI.
It is known, in the 2024 Legislative Election, the Golkar Party under Airlangga's leadership won 14.4 percent of the votes, which increased the number of seats in the DPR RI to 102 seats in the 2024-2029 period or the equivalent of 18 percent of the total seats in the DPR RI.
The President also congratulated Bahlil and the new Golkar board and hoped that Golkar would continue to contribute to Indonesia.
"To the new general chairman and the new Golkar leadership and the board of directors, I congratulate you on duty. We are waiting for the Golkar Party's contribution to our country, Indonesia," said the President.
