Sandiaga Calls Creative Economy The Future Of The Indonesian Nation

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that the creative economy sector is Indonesia's future.

Thus, business actors, especially the younger generation, are expected to be able to act as catalysts for the sustainability of the creative economy in the country.

According to Sandi, currently the added value of Indonesia's creative economy reaches IDR 1.4 trillion, placing Indonesia in the top three positions in the world with the largest creative economy contribution to GDP.

"We must be proud in the speech on August 16, the President for the first time displays the added value of the creative economy in his state speech," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 21.

He explained the United States was in first place with Hollywood, followed by South Korea with K-Pop and K-Drama.

It is possible that if all the younger generation accompany the development of the creative economy in Indonesia, in the next few years, this sector will accelerate to rank first.

"Because the creative economy is Indonesia's future economy," he said.

In encouraging this, the content presented in creative products certainly needs to prioritize the authentication, relevance, and become a potential in society.

I see that content is king, but packaging is queen. If the content meets the packaging, it will become a kingdom. And the key to the kingdom is innovation, adaptation, and collaboration," he said.
