Ministry Of Health Strict Sanctions 39 Perpetrators Of Bullying In Vertical Hospitals

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health said that it received 211 complaints of bullying or bullying at vertical hospitals that were sent to the bullying.kemkes.go.id website, and 39 of them had been dealt with and given strict sanctions.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health M. Syahril said, from the results of the investigation conducted on 156 bullying cases, 39 students (residents) and teaching doctors (consumen) had been given strict sanctions.

Syahril explained that the Ministry of Health received 356 reports of bullying or bullying via the page from July 2023 to August 9, 2024, with details of 211 reports taking place in vertical hospitals and 145 reports from outside vertical hospitals.

For 145 reports outside vertical hospitals, he said, they had been returned to their agencies for follow-up.

"The Ministry of Health will always take firm action against bullys. In addition, their names will also be marked at SISDMK (Health Human Resources Information System) as perpetrators of bullying," he said.

The types of bullying that are widely reported, said Syahril, are non-physical, non-verbal bullying, unnatural working hours, assigning tasks that have nothing to do with education and intimidation.

Regarding the imposition of sanctions, Syahril said this was in line with the Instruction of the Minister of Health Number HK.02.01/Menkes/1512/2023 concerning Prevention and Bullying of Students at Education Hospitals within the Ministry of Health.

The complaint will be received by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Health and will be immediately traced by the Inspectorate team. It will guarantee the security of the identity of the reporter.

He said, after it was confirmed that there were cases of bullying, there were 3 types of sanctions imposed on the perpetrators of bullying based on the results of the investigation by the Inspectorate team which the leadership of the Education Hospital and related units must follow up on, namely:

For educators and other employees: a) Light sanctions in the form of written warnings; b) Moderate sanctions in the form of suspension for a period of 3 (three) months; and c) severe sanctions in the form of a lower one-level demotion for 12 (twelve) months, release from office, dismissal as a hospital employee, and/or dismissal for teaching.

For students: a) Light sanctions in the form of verbal and written warnings; b) Moderate sanctions in the form of suspension of at least 3 (three) months; and c) severe sanctions in the form of returning students to education providers and/or being expelled as students.

Especially for the leadership of the Education Hospital where there are cases of bullying in the hospital, sanctions are imposed: a. Light sanctions in the form of written warnings; b. Moderate sanctions in the form of suspension for a period of 3 (three) months; and c. Heavy sanctions in the form of a lower one-level demotion for 12 (twelve) months, release from office, and/or dismissal as a hospital employee.

Bullying for any reason is not justified. We hope that this bad practice can be stopped immediately. So for students, report immediately if you get or find bullying practices on the available channels. Don't be afraid," he said.
