Investigate NIK Profits In The 2024 Pilkada, Commission II Of The DPR-KPU Will RDP Next Week
Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Junimart Girsang, said that his party will hold a hearing (RDP) with the General Elections Commission (KPU) next week.
The RDP will investigate the alleged profiteering of the population identification number (NIK) for the conditions to support the candidate for governor and deputy governor of the individual route in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana.
"We don't need to verify, Saturday (August 26) we will be consignment with the KPU regarding all kinds of PKPU, and Monday or Tuesday we will have RDP (AUDIence meeting) regarding all of this," said Junimart at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20, confiscated by Antara.
Junimart said that his party would encourage the KPU to take a firm stance against regional head candidates who make NIK profiteering to attract support.
"I will tell the KPU that in order to dis (disqualify) that, it is not permissible to legalize it on the grounds that even though it (already) was issued by the NIK which turned out to be without permission from the person concerned, and the cakada still fulfilled the quota, they continued to move forward, I will never agree with that," he said.
He said that his party would also emphasize to election organizers to prioritize neutrality in holding the 2024 Pilkada.
Moreover, he continued, currently the KPU is led by Mochammad Afifuddin as Chairman of the Indonesian KPU definitively replacing Hasyim Asy'ari, who was recently fired by the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP).
"We will be firm about it so that the KPU, Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency), and DKPP are really neutral, really work and don't repeat what happened before. I think this is what needs to be for the KPU," he said.
This is because he views that profiteering of ID cards for support for individual candidates is an ethical issue, which is not sufficient to be subject to criminal sanctions.
"I received the latest information that the DKI KPU stated that even if it was reduced from the NIK which turned out to be not licensed by the person concerned, it would still meet the requirements. If I think it is not a problem of meeting or not meeting the requirements, this is an ethical problem that a candidate for regional head who uses a NIK without other people's permission, right? This is a crime," he said.

For this reason, he questioned the quality of leaders who made NIK profiteering in order to achieve nomination support.
"How is it possible later when he leads with such a pattern, his quality will be so full of uncertainty in the future," he said.
Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU determined that the candidate pair for Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana would meet the requirements to run in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.
"We make sure that at 23.25 WIB, we issue a decree from the DKI Jakarta KPU regarding the fulfillment of the requirements for the support of individual candidate pairs," said Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KPU Wahyu Dinata in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20.
The Polda Metro Jaya has communicated with the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding the termination of the investigation into the profiteering case for the Civil Service Number (NIK) of DKI Jakarta residents to support individual candidates, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana.
"We have also communicated with Bawaslu because it is based on Law 10 of 2016, colleagues from Bawaslu, that Polda Metro Jaya initially received the report to serve the community," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi when met in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Ade Ary explained that the report would be handled by Bawaslu because it had been regulated in Article 185A of Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 1 of 2015 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2014 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents and Mayors.
