Bodies Of 6 Israeli Hostages Taken From Gaza Through Military Operations
JAKARTA - The bodies of six Israeli hostages were taken from Gaza during last night's military operation.
In a joint statement, Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel's security agency (ISA) mentioned the names of the hostages' bodies, namely Yoram Metzger, Alexander Dancyg, Avraham Munder, Chaim Peri, Nadav Popplewell, and Yagev Buchshtab.
Everything except Munder has been announced dead in recent months by the Israeli military.
"Tonight our troops returned the bodies of six of our hostages detained by the Hamas assassination terrorist organization," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.
"Our hearts are sad for this huge loss," he said.
Israeli authorities did not immediately release details of the operation to find the bodies of the hostages.
Munder (79), Metzger (80) and Peri (80) are all residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, near the Gaza border, where they were arrested during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
Munder was brought with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. They were later released through a temporary ceasefire in November. Munder's son, Roee, was killed in the attack.

Metzger's wife, Tami, was also kidnapped and later released to the ceasefire in November 2023.
Popplewell, who was 51 years old at the time of the incident, and Buchshtab (35) were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nirim.
In May, Hamas' military wing, Al Qassam Brigade, claimed Popplewell, who is a British-Israeli dual, had died more than a month earlier from his injuries after an Israeli airstrike hit where he was detained.
