Having A Mining, Bahlil Makes Sure He Has Been Handed Over To Professionals Since As Minister Of Jokowi's Cabinet
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has just inaugurated Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) replacing Arifin Tasrif during the remaining term of office of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
When met by the media crew, Bahlil revealed his status as a mining entrepreneur. Bahlil said that since entering the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and serving as Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) he was no longer an entrepreneur.
"Since I was inaugurated, I have not been a businessman anymore. Everything has been managed professionally. Yes, when we used to be entrepreneurs, we suddenly stopped everything. But everything has been done by professional people," Bahlil told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, 19 August.
Bahlikl also confirmed that he had resigned from all his positions from the company he founded as his commitment to his future position in government.
"So my position is no longer as an entrepreneur, but as a government official," continued Bahlil.
Previously, Bahlil also revealed that there was no conflict of interest after he was appointed as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
"Since being inaugurated in the government as the Head of BKPM, I have no longer become an entrepreneur, so it has been completed and God willing, even though I have a background as an entrepreneur, I can distinguish which ones are for the benefit of the state and which are for personal interests," said Bahlil after the Inauguration of the Minister and Deputy Minister of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the 2019-2024 Period at the State Palace today, Monday, August 19.

In fact, he said, with his experience as an entrepreneur, he can accommodate what is needed by the business world, so that it can be synchronized with government programs.
"In fact, with my experience as a former entrepreneur, I will try to fulfill what must be improved in line with what is needed by the business world," concluded Bahlil.
