JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango ensured that the work of his subordinates in the field of prosecution was in accordance with the rules. He denied any politicization.
This was conveyed by Nawawi in response to the issue of the anti-corruption commission diligently targeting PDI-P (PDIP) which is against President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) after the 2024 presidential election.
"I haven't seen it from that all this time. I still believe that the work of our investigators, investigators, and public prosecutors is still on track (defined, ed)," Nawawi told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Monday, August 19.
Nawawi emphasized that the KPK would not look at certain parties. The proof is that the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD, Muhaimin Syarif, for example, is now having an orange dream because he is suspected of bribing former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba.
"The reality is, for example, in the case of the former Governor of North Maluku, there are also those mentioned from other parties that we arrested yesterday," he said.
"Only people then interpret where this came from, where did we, the KPK, work, indeed whoever was suspected of being indicated, has something to do with the handling of cases that we are currently doing, yes, we will handle. There is no distinction between this or that one," continued Nawawi.
