Cholera Amid Armed Conflicts In Sudan Eats 22 Casualties
JAKARTA - Sudan reported 354 cases of acquainted with the death toll of 22 people amid the raging armed conflict in the country on Sunday, August 18.
"Collera has killed 22 people, while 354 cases have been reported," Health Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim said after a meeting with the deputy leader of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, was confiscated by Anadolu via Antara.
Ibrahim said efforts were underway to ensure the availability of safe drinking water, combat disease vectors, and contact the international community to get vaccinations.
He appealed to local authorities in Sudanese provinces to step up their efforts to combat the epidemic.
Sudan has been in conflict since April 2023 amid fighting between the army and paramilitary groups of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
According to UN data, more than 18,800 people have died in the conflict, about 10 million people have fled, and more than 25 million people need humanitarian assistance.
