RI Anniversary Celebration At The Indonesian Consulate General In Sydney: There Is A Golf Competition To Eat Crackers, The Main Prize Is Airplane Tickets

JAKARTA - The Newness of celebrating the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Sydney, Australia, presents cheerful jokes, laughter, a spirit of togetherness and warmth from the Indonesian people who are there.

After the flag ceremony led by Consul General Vedi Kurnia Buana, the event continued with the 17's traditional competitions organized by the New South Wales Indonesian-Australian Student Association (PPIA).

The race, such as eating crackers, sack racing to mining attractions, echoed with laughter and fighting spirit. All participants, both children and adults, were dissolved in joy, supported each other and cheered in an atmosphere full of joy.

This is not just a competition, but a manifestation of unity and solidarity among the Indonesian people in Sydney, which is increasingly being established in the moment of celebrating this independence.

"I am very proud to see the spirit of unity and strong unity among our people in Sydney. I hope that they can all become Indonesian ambassadors wherever they are, a good example in the international community," said Consul General Vedi in a statement. During the event, the participants were also treated to various typical Nusantara cakes such as chicken readings, pastries and risoles, which stimulated the longing for the country.

Typical Indonesian drinks produced and sold in local shops were also served, adding to the warm atmosphere at the celebration.

The commemoration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day in Sydney is not only a celebration event, but also a reflection and strengthening of national identity for Indonesians living in Australia.

"This event shows how strong the spirit of unity is between us, as well as a reminder of the importance of maintaining and celebrating national values wherever we are," said Julie, one of the residents present.

The enthusiasm of the participants was also focused on awarding medals to the winners of the competition that had been held previously, namely golf competitions, badminton and tennis. And, the main prize is in the form of Garuda Indonesia ticket vouchers worth a total of 1,000 Australian dollars.

"I feel very lucky to be able to win this prize, and I am proud to be part of the Indonesian community in Sydney," said Ksatria, one of the winners with a big smile.
