Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Touched By RI's Anniversary Commemorated In Two Places At The End Of His Term
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin attended the Red and White flag lowering ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Saturday, August 17, 2024, afternoon WIB.
Previously, Ma'ruf Amin, who was accompanied by Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin and the elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and his wife Selvi Ananda, also attended the Proclamation Seconds ceremony in the morning.
At that moment, Ma'ruf Amin and Gibran watched via videotron the procession of raising the Red and White flag which was held in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).
After the event, Ma'ruf Amin admitted that he was touched by the commemoration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day which was held in two places, the State Palace and IKN, at the end of his term as Vice President.
"Everything is going well. I am moved to leave the Vice President. I am also touched that the Indonesian Independence Day is commemorated in two places, the old capital city and the future."
"The new area (IKN will become a more equitable driving force for development in Indonesia," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

Furthermore, Ma'ruf Amin said that the commemoration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day could provide new motivation for the younger generation.
In addition, he hopes that IKN brings its own pride to the nation.
"We hope to motivate the younger generation that we will achieve Indonesia Forward in the future. We are sure, we are proud to be able to develop a magnificent capital city, not inferior to the capital city abroad," he said again.
Meanwhile, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin wore a dark blue suit combined with a red tie. Then, Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin wore a white kebaya and a yellow hijab during the Red and White flag lowering ceremony.
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's term of office is only two months left considering that the inauguration of the President and Vice President-elect will be held on October 20, 2024.
