Reportedly To Be A Single Candidate For Ketum Golkar, Bahlil: We'll See At The National Conference

JAKARTA - Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia responded to an issue calling himself the sole candidate for chairman of the Golkar Party after Airlangga Hartarto resigned.

Bahlil asked all parties to wait for developments in the Golkar Party National Conference (Munas) which will be held on August 20.

"I myself haven't followed in too much detail. Later the National Conference will be carried out on the 20th. The registration is what I received a report that it will be done on the 19th, so maybe later after the registration we can find out what the mechanism is," said Bahlil, Friday, August 16.

When asked about the claim of support for the majority of the Golkar DPD, Bahlil said everything was seen when the National Conference was held.

"Yes, we'll see. The National Conference is on the 20th. We'll see," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the plan to meet with the Acting Chairman of Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and the Deputy Head of Golkar Bambang Soesatyo to compete in determining the caketum, Bahlil again spoke about the National Conference.

"We'll see, we'll see. We'll see the National Conference later," he said.

Golkar politician, Nusron Wahid, previously agreed that Bahlil would be the sole candidate for the Golkar chairman.

"So far, yes. That's all," said Nusron.

Even when asked about the acclamation, Nusron answered that so far this information was true.

"So far, yes," he said.

However, Nusron denied that Bahlil was touted as President Joko Widodo's deposit. Later, Jokowi's victory was rumored to want to take over the Golkar Party.

"Nothing, there is no direction from the president. There is nothing," he said.

Nusron admitted that he agreed if Bahlil became the sole candidate for the Golkar chairman.

"Yes, okay. If it's a decision, okay, if it's agreed, the majority will be ok," he concluded.
