Polda Metro Reveals All Developments Of Firli Bahuri's Case
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya revealed all developments in the process of handling cases involving former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri. There are two cases that have been handled.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said that the first case was the alleged extortion and/or acceptance of gratuities against the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), Syahrul Yasin Limpo. In this case, Firli Bahuri has been named a suspect.
For the development of its handling, investigators are said to be still completing the case files in accordance with the instructions of the research prosecutor at the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).
"Regarding this first LP, investigators are still completing it. This suspect is FB's brother. Investigators are still completing and fulfilling the instructions of fellow prosecutors or prosecutors who contained P-19 documents," Ade told reporters quoted on Friday, August 16.
Investigators have several times transferred the case files for the alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities to the Prosecutor's Office. However, it is still declared incomplete.
In this case, Firli Bahuri is suspected of violating Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
Meanwhile, the second case involving Firli Bahuri is about the alleged violation of the KPK Law. Where, the former chairman of the KPK for the 2019-2023 period was suspected of meeting with Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who at that time had a match.
One of the two meetings took place at the Badminton Sports Center (GOR) in the Central Jakarta area.
It is known that the prohibition of KPK officials from meeting with litigants is regulated in Article 36 in conjunction with Article 65 of Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission.
In handling the case, said Ade, investigators are still carrying out a series of investigation processes. Given, the case has recently been upgraded from investigation to investigation.
"Investigators are still in the process of conducting investigations, there are no significant obstacles in this investigation process," he said.
