RI's 79th Anniversary At IKN Will Use 100 Percent Clean Electricity

PT PLN (Persero) is ready to present electricity from 100 percent of green energy at the commemoration ceremony for the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) on Saturday, August 17.

PLN is ready to all-out in presenting reliable 100 percent green electricity supply for the smooth running of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at IKN Nusantara. This is a form of PLN's commitment to support IKN as a sustainable future city," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo, Thursday, August 16.

Darmawan explained, the certainty of the reliability of the 100 percent green electricity supply is supported by the electricity production of the IKN Solar Power Plant (PLTS) which has reached the production capacity of 10 Megawatts (MW). This figure is much larger than the projected electricity needs for the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day, which is around 1.5 MW. Not only that, this capacity will continue to be increased to 50 MW by the end of 2024.

The availability of this supply is supported by the operation of the IKN 4 IKN Insulated Switchgear Gas (GIS) substation with a capacity of 2x60 Mega Volt Amphere (MVA). In addition, PLN has also completed the construction of a 26.03 kilometer-route transmission network (kmr).

PLN has completed the construction of the GIS 4 IKN technology substation, which will support the reliability of electricity in IKN. The presence of this substation is not only to meet the needs of the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day, but also to ensure the availability of long-term electricity in IKN," Darmawan continued.

Meanwhile, in terms of distribution, PLN built a distribution network of 64 kilometers of sirkit (kms) supported by Substations of Humbung and Distribution Substations, PLN continues to boost network development for IKN Central Government Core Areas (KIPP).

Darmawan ensured that PLN had prepared a layered electricity system in the main venue and supporters of the ceremony, so that the implementation of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony could run safely without any problems.

"With careful preparation and high commitment, PLN ensures that the utility of the electricity network at IKN will be ready to support various needs, both for important celebrations and for the future," concluded Darmawan.
