Australian Breakdance Athlete Total Gunn Hit By Bully While Competing At The Paris Olympics: Hate Is Very Destroying
JAKARTA - Australian breakdance athlete! Gunn, bullied on social media after the video clip while competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics went viral.
Gunn said the bad comments he had received since competing in the Paris Olympics were very sad. He asked for privacy for himself, his family and friends.
"I really appreciate the positives, and I'm happy to be able to bring joy into your life. That's what I expected," Gunn said in an Instagram post.
"I didn't realize that this would also open the door to hatred which is, frankly, devastating," he said.
Gunn got bullied, aka bullied on social media after he lost in all three round robin fights in Paris, where breakdance made his Olympic debut.
"Well, I went there and had fun -- I took it very seriously. I worked hard to prepare for the Olympics and I gave it everything. Really," Gunn said.
Gunn asked for his privacy to be respected, saying: "I really want to ask the press to stop harassing my family, my friends, the community in Australia and the wider street dance community. Everyone has gone through a lot as a result of this, so I ask you to respect their privacy," he said.
The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) previously criticized an online petition calling for an investigation into Gunn's election for the Paris Olympics, saying the petition contained lies aimed at fueling hatred for it.
