Hasto Claims Jokowi Wants To Be The General Chair Of PDIP

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was a figure who wanted to take over his party from the hands of Megawati Soekarnoputri as chairman.

This was conveyed by Hasto when asked about the figure Megawati said in her speech on Wednesday, August 15 yesterday. He said, this name has actually been frequently conveyed on various occasions.

"I have said that in several discussions because there is a minister in Mr. Jokowi's cabinet who expressed his desire from Mr. Jokowi to occupy the position of Chairman of the PDI-P," Hasto told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 15.

Hasto said this condition was just an initial rumor. However, recently it happened especially if you look at the Golkar Party now.

It is known, Airlangga Hartarto resigned as chairman and was replaced by Acting (Plt) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. "Then saw what happened with the Golkar Party, where there were rumors like that at first, it turned out that it happened," he said.

"So what Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri said is true," continued Hasto.

As previously reported, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri said there were parties planning to take her party. As a result, he did not retire at the age of 77.

Moreover, many party cadres bearing the bull symbol asked him to return to being the general chairman. "I heard that. At first I, 'I want to retire ah'. I already have a great-grandson, right, 'aduh, my great-grandson is really funny, I'm really my favorite'. Aih, was told to become the general chairman but didn't listen to everything. Why, "said Megawati in her speech when giving a letter recommendation for regional head candidates at the PDIP DPP Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 14.

"Eh, when I hear this, I think PDIP will take it. I want to be the general chairman again, hahaha," he continued.
