Pongki Barata Sees Great Potential From Collaboration Of Songwriters And Cover Singers
JAKARTA - Pongki Barata ex-Jikustik has a story where cover singers can be very profitable for songwriters. The collaboration between the two even has great potential that is very profitable.
One example of the case that Pongki experienced was his song entitled 'Akumen Malam Ini'. Singers of the 46-year-old song said his song was written for a film project.
"A song I'm thinking of Tonight was actually made because an order from a director for his film he's entitled Lover," said Pongki Barata, citing WAMI's Instagram upload, Thursday, August 15.
Pongki said the song was not well known enough, even after he re-released it.
"The song was performed exclusively by Mas Iwan Fauz in 2009. In 2011 I tried to re-release it on my solo album," said Pongki.
"The results are still mediocre," he added.

When the song was covered by someone and uploaded to YouTube, it turned out that the listener's response was different.
"When this song was covered by an artist named Felix on Youtube in 2016 or 2018, suddenly the song exploded and until now maybe more than 60 million views," he said.
Here I see the potential that Youtuber covers with songwriters can actually collaborate well.
Meanwhile, I hope tonight tells the story of a couple who have been in a relationship and then separated.
They meet again, and when they meet they only have one night to get together, and then separate again the next day.
