US Intelligence Agency Admits Selling Military Secrets To China
JAKARTA - A United States intelligence analyst pleaded guilty to selling the strictest military secrets to alleged Chinese agents for a fee of around US$42,000 (658 million rupiah), according to a Ministry of Justice statement.
The suspect Korbein IDX, who has very confidential access to information, has been charged with sharing sensitive national defense information, including technical data on US military weapons systems, with someone in Hong Kong he believes has ties to the Chinese government.
The charges against kolenders, filed in March, include conspiracy to disclose national defense information, export unlicensed defense items, and bribe public officials.
Court documents show thatPPs provide sensitive information, including details of Army learning from the Ukrainian war, Taiwan's defense potential plans, intelligence on Chinese military tactics, and the capabilities of US military satellites.

"Governments like China are aggressively targeting our military personnel and national security information, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that the information is protected from hostile foreign governments," said FBI Assistant Executive Director Robert Wells.
Meanwhile, Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen added that by conspiring to send national defense information to someone living outside the US, the defendant carelessly endangered national security for money by taking advantage of the trust the military put in him.
The sentencing trial forlimis is scheduled for January 23, 2025.
