KPK Explores Waskita Karya Subcontract Process Regarding The NTB Tsunami Shelter Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the subcontract process carried out by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) during the construction of a temporary evacuation site (TES) or tsunami shelter in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) would be investigated. Investigators are looking for regulations or not.
"Yes, the investigators are still investigating whether the subcon process is in accordance with the rules or not," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted on Wednesday, August 14.
Tessa is still closing the deepening meeting. He only agreed that the construction process was indeed carried out by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) which was then sub-contracted to other companies with a smaller value.
"(Yes, red) is subcontracted," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the construction of a temporary evacuation site (TES) or tsunami shelter in NTB. Two people have been named as suspects, details of one being a state administrator and others originating from BUMN.
It was stated that the construction was carried out by the Building and Environmental Planning Task Force, the Implementation Activities for Building and Environmental Planning (PBL) of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in 2014. The investigation into the alleged corruption has been carried out since 2023.
