President Putin: We Do Everything To Support The State And People Of Palestine
JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated his position on the Palestinian state, will do everything as a form of support, when accepting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday.
During the meeting in Moscow, President Putin reiterated his call on the Palestinian state, related to peace and stability in the Middle East.
"We believe that to ensure lasting, reliable and stable peace in the region, it is necessary to create a complete Palestinian state," President Putin told President Abbas at the president's residence.
Furthermore, the Kremlin Leader also expressed "deep pain and concern" about the deaths of civilians in the Gaza Strip during the Israel-Hamas war.
"We are especially concerned about the loss of civilians," Putin said, according to images posted on Russian state television, adding: "We are doing everything we can to support Palestine and the Palestinian people."
Previously, President Abbas was scheduled to visit Moscow in November last year. However, it was postponed after the latest Hamas-Israeli conflict broke out on October 7, 2023.
Russia is known to maintain employment with Israel, the Palestinian Authority and the militant group Hamas, which Moscow does not consider a terrorist organization.

Separately, medical sources in Gaza announced on Tuesday that at least 32 Palestinians were killed and 88 others injured as a result of Israeli attacks in the past 24 hours, quoted from WAFA.
Health authorities have confirmed that the death toll of Palestinians since October 7 has reached 39,929, while injuries have reached 92,240. The majority of victims were women and children.
