KPK Asks For A Budget For Central Lombok Employees To Be Reduced By 30 Percent

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the budget for personnel expenditures in the Central Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab) swelled by 49.15 percent or around Rp. 1.3 trillion. This figure is requested to be reduced.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Dian Patria Region V Korsup Task Force after holding the 2024 Integrated Corruption Prevention Acceleration Coordination Meeting with the Central Lombok Regency Government, Monday, August 12 yesterday.

"This figure should be reduced to 30 percent of the APBD," said Dian as quoted from his official statement, Tuesday, August 13.

Dian agrees that this process must be difficult for the Central Lombok Regency Government. "Given that it is the most important need. Therefore, the only solution is to optimize local revenue," he said.

"This optimization can be done in several ways," continued Dian. For example, by utilizing regional assets optimally and making more efficient withdrawals from the hotel and restaurant sector.

In addition, district governments should not only accept pocketing reports. But it also needs to actively verify and cooperate with the local tax office to detect any discrepancies or anomalies," said Dian.

"So that this PAD does not lose and can be used optimally for regional needs," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Central Lombok Regional Secretary Lalu Firman Wijaya explained that the 2024 monitoring corruption prevention (MCP) achievement in his area reached 81.94 percent. It's just that there are three things that need to be improved, namely BMD Management, Regional Tax Optimization, and APIP Supervision.

"We appreciate the arrival of the KPK Region V Korsup Task Force Team and affirm our readiness to continue to coordinate in order to create a bureaucracy that is free from corruption," concluded Firman.
