Chery Omoda 5 Gets Five Star In NCAP ASEAN Collision Test
JAKARTA - The automotive brand from China, Chery again reaped positive results through the Omoda 5 crossover. The model won a five-star assessment in the ASEAN NCAP hit test for the 2021-2025 assessment protocol with a total score of 88.64.
The ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 assessment protocol now includes four assessment domains, with an Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) of 40.00 points from the overall score, and Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcyclist Safety (MS).
Reporting from the official ASEAN NCAP website, Tuesday, August 13, the car received an impressive assessment of various categories, consisting of AOP with a score of 36.77 points and COP with 17.36 points.
In addition, this futuristic-style car also achieved a good assessment in the SA category with 19.51 points and MS with 15.00 points.
The car has a number of standard passive safety equipment consisting of six airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control, seat-belt reminder, and rear seat occupation detection.
In addition, Chery Omoda 5 has an automatic emergency braking system, blind sports detection, auto high beam, and pedestrian protection.
The crossover also has other equipment that makes users feel safe, such as lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assist.
The tested variants are Omoda 5 H, originating from Malaysia and aimed at markets including Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
