Say: Kou Releases Single Incomplete, Screams of Emptiness and Heartbreak
JAKARTA - Tangerang-based music unit, Say:Kou released their second single titled Incomplete. Released on August 9, this alternative rock band expresses feelings of emptiness and heartbreak in their music.
The heartbreak of someone who has been left by their partner after years is the main spirit of this song. The incident leaves a feeling of emptiness that makes them feel useless and unable to do anything, like a part of themselves is missing, which makes them feel incomplete.
The unique fact is, this song was written by Fauzy, the vocalist, because he saw many similar phenomena among young people.
"Actually, I just wrote this song for fun. Because I saw a lot of people feeling down on social media, so I thought about writing a song with a theme of being down. But it turned out that a few months later, what I wrote in this song came true and it happened to my own relationship. So this song is very personal to me, hehehe," explained the frontman who is familiarly called Oji.
Consisting of Fauzy (vocals), Eko (guitar), Agung (bass), and Hanif (drums), Say: Kou worked on this song collectively, starting from a voice note recording.
"For the drum filling, Oji wanted something simple. But I'm the worst at simple fillings. At least give it a little bit of a twist to make the song more varied and colorful. After several discussions and changes here and there, I finally got a drum filling that I think is suitable for this song," Hanif added.
