Vice President Ma'ruf Amin laid the first stone for the Vice Presidential Palace construction project in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

In his remarks, the Vice President conveyed the construction of the IKN Vice Presidential Palace an important step in realizing Indonesia's future forward.

"Today, we are grateful to be a witness to the history of our country's development. The construction of the Vice Presidential Palace at IKN is an important step in realizing Indonesia's future which is more advanced, prosperous and just," said Vice President Ma'ruf as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 12.

The Vice President said that the construction of the Vice Presidential Palace in IKN has a strategic meaning.

In addition to being proud because it is the work of the nation's children, the Vice President's Palace building is expected to become one of the centers of state activities that reflects national values, integrity, and public services.

According to the Vice President, the palace must be the axis of change and the birthplace of various important policies concerning the livelihoods of the Indonesian people.

"Today's Vice Presidential Palace groundbreaking is part of the seventh phase of the groundbreaking series of investors at IKN and is planned to be completed before the 2025 RI Anniversary Ceremony," said the Vice President.

Vice President Ma'ruf conveyed several messages that needed mutual attention in the construction of the Vice President's Palace.

First, the construction of the Vice President's Palace must prioritize the principles of sustainability and environmentally friendly by ensuring that every stage of development is carried out with environmentally friendly principles in order to minimize natural damage and support energy efficiency.

"Application green technology through the use of sustainable materials so that the palace built is not only physically good, but also harmonious with the surrounding nature," explained the Vice President.

Ma'ruf also encourages the involvement of local communities in various aspects of development to improve the standard of living of the surrounding community, as well as uphold local values and culture.

Second, development must be carried out with high quality and standards.

The construction of the Vice President's Palace and other infrastructure at IKN, according to him, should not compromise in terms of quality, both material, construction, and design.

"Make sure that this building is not only aesthetically good, but also sturdy and has sufficient security," he said.

The Vice President emphasized that the construction process must be carried out with full responsibility and comply with all regulations so that strict supervision is needed to ensure that every development step goes according to plan.

Third, the Vice President asked related parties to pay attention to transparency and accountability in development.

The Vice President emphasized that every step in the process of building the Vice President's Palace must be carried out with full openness, both in terms of budget use, job partner selection, and in the decision-making process.

"I ask all stakeholders to maintain integrity and work with full responsibility. Ensure that this project is free from all forms of deviation and misappropriation," he explained.

The Vice President expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of PUPR and all parties who have participated in the planning and preparation process for the construction of the Vice Presidential Palace.

He hopes that this project can be a catalyst for local economic growth through increasing job and business opportunities, which ultimately contribute to improving the welfare of the surrounding community.

In addition, the Vice President prayed that the construction of the capital city of the archipelago, including the Vice President's Palace, could run smoothly and on time, and provide the maximum benefit for the future of the nation and state.

"Finally, by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, Projectgroundbreaking Vice Presidential Palace at IKN, I declare that it is officially started. May Allah SwT always delegate His 'inyah and meridhai every effort we do," said the Vice President praying.

Director General of Cipta Karya PUPR Diana Kusumastuti explained that the Vice President's Palace was built on an area of 14.8 hectares with a total budget of IDR 1.4 trillion.

The construction will start from phase one including the palace building and the vice president's office, the residence of the vice president, the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) and supporting buildings.
