Condemns Israeli Attack On Gaza School, Palestine: America Must Be Responsible

JAKARTA - Israel's airstrike against the Al Tabi'in school that houses thousands of refugees took place on Saturday, August 10, at Fajr prayer time.

The Palestinian presidency stated that the United States was also responsible for the Israeli attack on a school in the Daraj area of Gaza City, which killed more than 100 people.

"We consider the US government to be responsible for this massacre because of their financial, military and political support for Israel," the Palestinian presidency said in a statement monitored on social media on Saturday, August 10.

Palestinians view the attack as part of Israel's systematic actions to dismantle' Palestinian people with massacres and killings every day.

Moreover, the attack came shortly after the US injected an additional USD 3.5 billion (approximately IDR 55.8 trillion) into the Israeli military.

The aid was disbursed at the same time as this severe attack, which proves US involvement in the ongoing genocide, the statement reads.

To that end, Palestine again urged the US to pressure Israel to stop its aggression, stop killing innocent Palestinians, and comply with international laws and norms.

"The US must immediately end its unconditional support for Israel, which left thousands of innocent people dead, including children, women and the elderly," the statement said.

Israel acknowledged the attack on the school in Gaza, arguing that the building was a "military headquarters" of the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.

In addition to killing hundreds of Palestinians who fled the school, the Israeli attack injured hundreds of other refugees.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel's all-out attack on the Gaza Strip has killed nearly 40,000 Palestinians.

Israel's aggressiveness also destroyed 70 percent of residences and other infrastructure and caused a hunger disaster that threatened the lives of those who still survive in the Palestinian enclave.
