Officially Returning To Barcelona, This Is What Dani Olmo Said
JAKARTA - Barcelona managed to bring back midfielder Dani Olmo. However, Barca had to spend up to 62 million euros from RB Leipzig to get this 26-year-old player.
Olmo has finally returned to Barca. The recruitment of Barca's La Masia academy students is indeed running smoothly. Especially when compared to Nico Williams, who is reluctant to be released by his club, Athletic Bilbao.
Barca bought Olmo for 55 million euros plus 7 million euros based on player performances and club achievements or add-ons. Thus, Barca paid its former player for 62 million euros or approximately 1.07 trillion rupiah.
Olmo also got a long contract, which is six years. This means the club tied him up to 2030 with a player's release clause of 500 million euros. The Spanish national team player who won Euro 2024 said he was happy to finally return to the club he left at the age of 15.
"I'm really happy because this is a dream come true. I feel like I'm going home because I meet my family and teammates again," Olmo was quoted as saying by Football Espana.
"I can't wait to play. I'm proud that Barca is trying hard to get me. Negotiations are a bit tough, but that's normal," he said.
Although it was a bit difficult, the negotiations finally went smoothly. Barca's Director of Sports Deco, who actively approached and negotiated until finally the two clubs reached an agreement.
"Leipzig made everything go smoothly and smoothly. I thank them. Now, I started a new chapter and we are trying to achieve success," he said.
