Turkish Bus Accident Hits Pillar On Flyover, 9 People Killed

JAKARTA - Buses traveling between cities in Turkey had an accident after hitting the pillars of the flyover. Nine people died, 26 others were injured.

The accident occurred near the city of Polatli, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from the capital Ankara, Vasip Governor Sahin told television station HaberTurk reported by ABC News.

The bus traveled from the city of Izmir in western Turkey to the city of Agri, east of the country, Friday, August 9.

The cause of the bus accident that caused the closure of one side of the highway is not yet known for sure.

There has been no information regarding the condition of injured passengers who were evacuated to hospitals in Polatli and Ankara.
