Friday Afternoon, PKB Syuro Council Visits PBNU

JAKARTA - PBNU Deputy Secretary General Faisal Saimima, confirmed the planned arrival of dozens of active Syuro Council members and former PKB Shura Council members to the PBNU office in Central Jakarta, Friday, August 9, this afternoon. Their arrival to PBNU to attend with the Special Committee for PKB-NU relations. Faisal revealed that the Syuro Council had sent a letter to PBNU so that PKB Special Committee formed by PBNU to add testimony regarding the condition of PKB under the leadership of Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.. "Yes, the kiai of these Syuro Council members have informed us. God willing, we will accept them on the fifth floor of the PBNU building," Faisal told reporters, Friday, August 9. Faisal said, the members of the PKB Syuro Council who came were generally from the PKB DPC in Java. Among them are 5 still active administrators, and 4 former PKB administrators. Faisal said, these kiai will vent the PKB after the leadership of Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur to the PBNU Special Committee Team. According to the kiai, after Gus Dur no longer led the PKB, the authority of the Syuro Council continues to be widened. As a result, Faisal said, the Syuro Council now no longer has a central position in the PBNU party formed.

"The arrival of these PKB Syuro Council members will be an input for PBNU in evaluating PKB's actions under Muhaimin's leadership," he concluded.
