Head Of NCS Police Talks About Conflict Insecurity Ahead Of The 2024 Pilkada
JAKARTA - The Head of Operations for the Nusantara Cooling System (Kaops NCS) of the National Police, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, asked all ranks of the Bhayangkara Corps to optimize the cooling system efforts ahead of the 2024 Pilkada. This is because the level of conflict vulnerability is still quite high.
He made this statement when giving directions on strengthening activities for the implementation of enhanced routine activities (KRYD) related to the Nusantara Cooling System at the East Java Regional Police.
"As the province with the number of DPT (permanent voter lists) the second most in Indonesia and the axis of two leading religious organizations in Indonesia, East Java is one of the provinces with a fairly high level of conflict vulnerability. We need to anticipate this ahead of the simultaneous regional elections," said Asep, quoted on Friday, August 9th.
The Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police also conveyed about potential threats that could occur such as SARA, fake news and polarization that could divide the unity and integrity of the nation.
Therefore, the National Police must be adaptive and proactive to neutralize political residues, mitigate election disinformation and maintain national harmony and unity so that the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada can take place safely, honestly and fairly.
"On the same occasion, the National Police Chief also said that the National Police will make maximum efforts in eliminating potential conflicts ahead of the Pilkada through optimizing the Nusantara Cooling System," he said.
Furthermore, to maintain public security and order ahead of the elections later, the Kasatwil are intensive in carrying out the cooling system. Like what the Ops NCS Polri did in the presidential and legislative elections yesterday, Preemptive and Preventive efforts by visiting scholars, kiai, habib, community leaders and youth leaders as well as holding social services.
"Meet religious leaders, traditional leaders, students, and social activities, build a big narrative, namely maintaining national unity and integrity for the creation of a safe and peaceful regional election," he said.

Furthermore, Kasatwil must also intensively go to the field, manage potential conflicts and optimize the role of intelligence and Bhabinkamtibmas members.
"The success of Kasatwil can be seen from being able to manage small potential so that it doesn't exist and the big ones are the success of all of you so that our leadership doesn't intervene, so we really often go to the field," said Asep.
