Democrats Officially Support Bobby Nasution-Surya In The North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election
The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Democratic Party has issued a letter of recommendation to the pair Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution-Surya to run as a candidate pair in the 2024 North Sumatra Governor and Deputy Governor Election.
Chairman of the DPP Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) accompanied by Secretary General Teuku Riefky Harsya and General Treasurer Renville Antonio submitted party recommendation letters to Bobby and Surya at the DPP office of the Democratic Party, Jakarta, Thursday, August 8.
"With Bung Bobby's leadership and young energy, I have optimism, Democrats have optimism that they can advance North Sumatra in the next 5 years," AHY said when submitting a letter of recommendation to Bobby and Surya as reported by ANTARA.
AHY assessed that both of them also have a track record in the government, each of which is Bobby as Mayor of Medan and Surya as Regent of Asahan.
AHY said the Democratic Party continued to support Surya's political career when running for Regent of Asahan until he was finally able to lead the district for two terms.
"Hopefully, hopefully, with Bobby, both of them can win the governor election in North Sumatra," said AHY.
