JAKARTA - The results of a survey by the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) show that 99 percent of people using social media X agree that illegal imported products need to be eradicated. Because, it is considered to be able to kill the textile industry in the country.
This is based on the results of a survey conducted by Indef from July 25 to August 6, 2024 with 2,136 discussions or comments regarding the illegal Import Task Force on social media X.
Indef Big Data Development Director Eko Listiyanto said the majority of netizens showed support for the domestic textile industry.
Warganet said the domestic textile industry needed support and improvement.
Therefore, said Eko, netizens think that the government must be more assertive in dealing with the onslaught of importing illegal textiles that enter the country.
"99.28 percent of netizens agreed that illegal imported products should be eradicated. Netizens think that illegal imported products will only kill local businesses or products," Eko said in a virtual discussion, Thursday, August 8.
