PDIP Yakin Ridwan Kamil Tak Bakal Lawan Kotak Blank Di Pilgub Jakarta
The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto believes that this year's Jakarta gubernatorial election will not be filled with Ridwan Kamil's fight against empty boxes or without potential governors-deputy governors.
He explained, in Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors (Pilkada), the KPU will provide an extension of the registration time if only one candidate pair registers in an area.
"Not yet threatened, there are still opportunities. Because later if for example there are indications that the KPU will provide an extension normally. That's where the constellation changes can occur," said Hasto at the National Gallery, Thursday, August 8.
Hasto assessed that the phenomenon of empty boxes in democratic contestation should be prevented as long as this condition is masterminded by the intervention of political parties that prevent other candidates from being nominated.
Hasto continued, all political parties should study the case of the Makassar Mayor-Deputy Mayor Election in the 2018 Pikada. Where, more people choose empty boxes.
"When all efforts to block candidates who occupy separate places in the hearts of the people, finally the people choose empty boxes," said Hasto.

Hasto believes that the community has an important role in capturing the constellation of regional head candidates.
Political parties, according to Hasto, will definitely consider the direction of community support in determining which candidates will be promoted.
"Restrictions on politics are the people. What is important is the support of the people and the support of the undercurrent. A tremendous power is unity and the people. So that every leader who gets shamanization from the people doesn't have to worry about not getting a political ticket," he added.
