A Lonely Hero's Journey tells the story of Gu Yi Zhong (Joseph Zheng), a young master of the famous Family of Gu in Suzhou, graduating from architectural majors at a well-known foreign university.

During the fight Against Japan's Aggression, Gu Yi Zhong insisted on staying in Suzhou, in the name of protecting cultural heritage, even though he was actually actively participating in Anti-Japan activities.

In the middle of a rescue operation, Gu Yi Zhong was framed by Japan as a traitor inside the party and was betrayed overnight.

Unable to prove himself innocent and to find out the true traitor, Gu Yi Zhong took the initiative to infiltrate the Japanese army and become a hidden member of the Suzhou Secret Service Station.

Gu Yi Zhong unknowingly has a hidden task that will affect him. Gu Yi Zhong's struggle will be featured in A Lonely Hero's Journey with 36 episodes.
