There Is No Incentive For Hybrid Vehicles From The Government, This Is GAIKINDO's Response

JAKARTA - Rumors of incentives from the government for hybrid vehicles have been answered. The government through the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto has ensured that there will be no new policy additions for the automotive sector this year.

With no changes, it means that the government will also not issue policies to provide incentives for hybrid vehicles in Indonesia.

According to him, this segment has received a very good response and has even doubled when compared to the previous year.

Responding to the government's decision, Chairman I of the Indonesian Automotive Industries Association (GAIKINDO) Jongkie Sugiarto accepted the government's decision not to provide incentives to vehicles in the hybrid segment.

"Yes, we have to accept this Government decision," Jongkie Sugiarto told ANTARA, quoted Thursday, August 8.

With a decision that has been ratified by the government of the Republic of Indonesia, in this case the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs. Gaikindo asked automotive manufacturers who market hybrid vehicles to carry out their strategies to be able to continue selling vehicles that provide many benefits to the environment.

"The APM must look for other strategies, in order to increase sales of its hybrid cars," he continued.

According to him, hybrid vehicles have several advantages that can improve the environment to be more awake.

He explained that at least four important things this vehicle has.

Cars carrying hybrid technology, have savings in the use of fuel compared to conventional vehicles, emitting very low pollution, not much need infrastructure such as pure electric vehicles and also very friendly prices.

With the various advantages that are currently an important issue, GAIKINDO has negotiated these things with the government to become more attention.

This is solely to maintain the trend of sales which are currently in a positive condition for the segment.

"Because of these things, we propose that incentives for hybrid cars can also be given even though the amount does not have to be the same as the BEV car incentives," he asserted.
