Man Eats Cat Meat In Semarang To Treat Diabetes As A Suspect

SEMARANG - A man with the initials N (64) in the city of Semarang, Central Java, who abused a cat to death, then the meat was consumed for diabetes, named a suspect.

"The suspect admitted to having consumed cat meat 3 years ago," said the Head of Certain Crimes at the Semarang Police Satreskrim AKP Johan Widodo as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 8.

In the action, the perpetrator hit the cat he met in sleep, with a sickle handle. The perpetrator then cut and boiled the cat meat before eating it.

The reason the owner of the boarding house in Gunungpati, Semarang City, was that he was desperate to eat cat meat, because he thought the meat was low in calories. In addition, the perpetrator admitted that he could not afford beef.

In disclosing the case, the police also secured a number of equipment for cooking cat meat and a number of bone pieces from the cat.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Law Number 41 of 2014 concerning Animal Husbandry and Health or Article 302 of the Criminal Code concerning animal abuse.

The suspect, he said, was not detained because of the threat of a sentence of under 5 years.

In addition, investigators are also still coordinating to ensure the mental condition of the perpetrator.
