Golkar: KIM Informally Accepts Ridwan Kamil's Candidacy In The 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election
JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Golkar Party Ahmad Doli Kurnia claimed that parties who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) responded positively to Ridwan Kamil's candidacy for the 2024 Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub). In fact, he admitted, KIM accepted Ridwan Kamil's candidacy.
"Of course, Golkar because part of the Forward Indonesia Coalition will discuss it together with the leadership in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition. Well, thank God it seems that Ridwan Kamil's name has been received," he said Wednesday, August 7 evening.
Ahmad Doli explained, after probing the choice for Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Golkar offered the nomination to all parties, including parties outside KIM.
"Well, thank God, all those in the Forward Indonesia Coalition accepted and so did outside the Forward Indonesia Coalition responded positively. This is what we are currently finalizing, political parties that received positively, who responded positively to the proposal submitted by Golkar. Hopefully later it will be KIM's proposal, plus later by other political party friends," he explained.
Ahmad Doli said, if the entire party has made a decision, the next discussion is regarding who the deputy governor will be nominated to accompany Ridwan Kamil.
"Well, only after it is decided together, okay, fix, for example, they accept Ridwan Kamil as a candidate for regional head, then we will talk together who will be the deputy regional head candidate," he said.

Ahmad Doli admitted that the Golkar Party encouraged KIM to hand over names to the Ridwan Kamil pair later. Several names have also been heard on the Ridwan Kamil companion exchange.
