NasDem Has Not Provided A Recommendation Decree To Anies, Gus Choi: Hopefully His Faith Is Strong, Still Supporting

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party has yet to provide a Decree (SK) on Recommendations even though it has officially promoted Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Chairman of the DPP NasDem Party Effendi Choirie (Gus Choi) hopes that his party's faith will remain strong to support Anies again in leading Jakarta.

"We pray that hopefully his faith will be strong to support Anies. To fight or contain a political tsunami," said Gus Choi at the PBNU building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 7.

Gus Choi said that NasDem had not writtenly conveyed support for Anies. However, he said, the General Chairperson of NasDem, Surya Paloh, had declared Anies as the governor of Jakarta.

"Not yet (given a recommendation, ed). But it has been declared. Indeed, not in writing yet, Mr. Surya usually has a statement in accordance with the realization. So between words with actions are usually the same. Now, this time, whether it will be the same, we hope it will be the same," he said.

When asked if NasDem was interested in joining the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus, considering that Gerindra had signaled that another party would join, Gus Choi admitted that he did not know.

"I don't know exactly. But, what I know is that to this day NasDem has supported Mas Anies," he said.

However, Gus Choi acknowledged that there was an issue that NasDem was offered to join KIM. This is because NasDem has stated that he will join the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"Yes, the rumors are developing. Maybe yes, I don't know exactly. Wong I didn't join the lobby, you guys. The smell is like that. Yes, right? Yes, it smells. It smells," he concluded.
