DENPASAR - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno met with 25 investors to discuss cooperation in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Bali.

Sandiaga mentioned several foreign investors who expressed interest, including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and America.

"There are already some who say they will take some of the parts offered but, what is concrete about to open next year are aesthetic clinics and major hospitals starting March," he said, Wednesday, August 7.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said the meeting looked interested in investing in the huge Sanur Health SEZ, for that the government is targeting that next year at least health facilities such as aesthetic clinics and major hospitals will start operating to focus on health and fitness.

Dozens of investors who came were brought by Bank UBS from Switzerland who saw the potential of the health tourism sector in Bali.

Therefore, Sandiaga is optimistic that later this area will increase quality tourist attraction and is expected to become a role model for economic zones specifically for health tourism in other parts of Indonesia.

In the Sanur Health SEZ itself, it will prioritize beauty services and stem cells or facial care, fertility (IVF), diabETik, geriatry, and dental health services.

The main targets of this international standard area are the Indonesian people who have been seeking treatment abroad, then Indonesian citizens Australia, India, Malaysia, America, and Europe.

Some investors who are already committed to investing are also expected not only to focus on the health sector, because in this area a large ecosystem is built that contains supporting parts of its main health tourism.
