New Zealand Pilot Shot Dead, Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Ensures Papua's Situation Is Safe
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto ensured that his party would continue to maintain a conducive situation in Papua after the murder of pilot Glen Malcolm Conning (50) from New Zealand by the Free Papua Organization (OPM) group.
"The government through the security apparatus will take various necessary actions in accordance with applicable procedures and laws to keep the situation conducive to the national interest," Hadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.
Tidak hanya itu, Hadi juga memastikan proses hukum atas tindakan tersebut akan terus berjalan demi memberikan rasa aman bagi masyarakat Papua.
Until now, security forces are tracking the OPM group of the perpetrators of the murder who fled to the Nduga area, Papua Mountains.
Previously, OPM took hostage and killed the helicopter pilot belonging to PT Intan Angkasa Air Service, Glen Malcolm Conning, a New Zealand national, Monday (5/8).

On Tuesday (6/8) at 12.45 WIT, the body of pilot Glen Malcolm Conning was evacuated by the TNI Task Force Team from Alama District, Mimika Regency to Mimika Hospital.
The Commander of the Joint Operations Command for the Defense Region (Kogabwilhan) III Lt. Gen. Richard TH Tampubolon explained that there were six survivors of the action, namely four health workers and two toddlers.
