Gus Choi: PBNU Has The Right To Evaluate And Reorganize PKB

JAKARTA - NasDem politician Effendi Choirie (Gus Choi) said the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board has the right to evaluate, correct and reorganize the National Awakening Party (PKB). Because PKB was founded by PBNU on the aspirations of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) residents who want to own political vehicles.

This was conveyed by Gus Choi after giving information regarding PKB's relationship with PBNU to the Special Committee at the PBNU building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 7.

The former PKB politician admitted that PKB and PBNU did not have a structural relationship.

However, both have historical, cultural and aspirational relationships. According to him, structural relationships can be changed while historical relationships will remain lasting.

"Tim Lima dan Tim Sembilan membuat kalau partai ini (PKB) sudah berdiri maka hubungannya apa dengan NU? Hubungan NU dengan partai yang didirikan namanya PKB itu adalah hubungan berkultas, hubungan kultural dan hubungan aspiratif. Tidak struktural, benar, tapi sejarah, kulturisial tidak bisa hilang. Kucultural, NU memiliki kekayaan tradisi beragama, tradisi pikiran, tradisi pribadimat, adab akhlak dan segala macem, kemudian aspirasi, pergerakan partai yang didirikan NU ketika dia memjukan gerapan politiknya di luar, harus memenceri aspirasi Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)," ujar Gus Choi saat konferensi pers.

There are five people as PKB declarators, namely KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) as General Chair, KH Ilyas Ruhiat as Rais Aam PBNU, KH Mustofa Bisri, KH Muchid Muzati, KH Munawir Ali.

"This is what represents NU. Representing the citizens of NU Nahdliyin throughout Indonesia, this is the party (PKB). It is not enough there, so there is a concept, there is a vision and mission, there are all kinds of things, the principle of struggle is there, the AD/ART is there, the relationship that has been regulated between NU and PKB, and declared. That is not enough, this must be registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, or in the past the term, the Ministry of Justice, is right, "explained Gus Choi.

In fact, the chairman of the PKB Extraordinary Congress (MLB) Organizing Committee for Gus Dur's camp in 2008 also mentioned the names of PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staqub and PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul as well as giving their ID cards as a condition for PKB registration.

"To go that way is not enough with 5 declarators, then 5 teams, and 9 assistants yes, the Assistance Team, not enough. It requires ID cards for the requirements of about 50 people, who are asked for ID cards to meet the administrative requirements, to approve a political party it stands for. In addition to these names Gus Dur and so on there is also Gus Yahya's name, there is also his name, there is the name gus Saipul there, including my name, there are Maskur experts, Arifin Junaedi and others," said Gus Choi.

Therefore, according to Gus Choi, the presence of PKB until now has a close connection with PBNU as its founder. According to him, PBNU has the right to evaluate PKB's journey and correct and reorganize PKB if its party, a NU citizen, deviates from the khitah NU 1926.

"So brothers and sisters, it means that the current presence of PKB is still related to NU. Now NU is the founder, so the conclusion that founded PKB means PBNU representing NU residents," said Gus Choi.

"Thus, NU or PBNU has the right to evaluate PKB travel, it has the right to correct. Not interfere, not interfere, because the history is like that, it has the right to evaluate, correct, or rearrange. This is where the difference between the National Awakening Party and other parties," he continued.
