Iran's Revolutionary Guard Commander Ensures Israel Accepts Firm Response After Ismail Haniyeh's Murder In Tehran

JAKARTA - The Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) confirmed that Israel would receive a firm'response' from Iran for the murder of the Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, saying the retaliatory operation would be kept secret.

Speech at a cultural event, held in Tehran on Monday in commemoration of Journalist's Day, Major General Hossein Salami said the Zionist regime was gradually buried in a self-explored hole, quoted from the Tasnim News Agency Aug. 5.

Regarding Haniyeh's death in Tehran, Major General Salami said the Israeli regime would recognize they had miscalculated after receiving a strong response from Iran.

Zionists have once again made mistakes, he said, adding Iran's response response would be kept secret.

Ismail Haniyeh was confirmed to have died as a result of an attack on his place of night in Tehran last Wednesday. He was in Iran's capital to attend the inauguration of elected president Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday afternoon.

Previously, he met Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Pezeshkian before the inauguration on two different occasions.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a "hard response" to the killing of Haniyeh, calling it the country's duty to take revenge for the Palestinian resistance leader's blood.

Separately, in a statement on Saturday, the IRGC revealed more details about Haniyeh's murder, quoted from Mehr.

"This action was designed and implemented by the Zionist regime and supported by the American criminal government," the statement read.

"According to the investigation, the terrorist operation was carried out by firing a short-range projectile with a warhead of about 7 kilograms, accompanied by a strong explosion, from outside the area where Haniyeh lives," he added.

The IRGC also stressed that they would retaliate for Haniyeh's blood, adding that the terrorist Zionist regime would definitely face severe punishment at the right time and place.
